On 04/10/10, Lerry and Sgt. Schatzer conducted a traffic stop at NW Expressway and N. MacArthur. Lerry eventually alerted to the odor of narcotics in the suspect vehicle. 6.75 grams of rock cocaine along with cash, gold coins and the vehicle were seized. Special thanks to Officers Rockenfield and Peters for all of their hard work and help!! For many years our Police Department has always strived to be pro-active in seeking out those people that intend to sell illegal drugs throughout our city particularly to our youth. Recent years with low sales tax revenue, understaffed police department causing us to be more re-active than pro-active to crimes. With increases in tax revenue the department is almost fully staffed again, we have certainly very pro-active against drug activities in our city. Found in the vehicle was 6.75 grams of rock cocaine. When a person is found to have in their possession rock cocaine, under 5 grams it is considered to be a felony charge of possession of dangerous controlled substance. When one found to be in possession of over 5 grams, it then becomes (trafficking) a felony of possession with intent to distribute a dangerous control substance.
